Who is Taila?
I’m Brazilian by birth and a Texan by heart--I actually consider myself a Gaúcha Texana. Rio Grande do Sul, the state where I was born and raised, has so much in common with Texas that it feels like home away from home.
I came to the US in 2012 as an au pair (fancy word for nanny) in an exchange program with the plan to learn English and go back to Brazil after one year. As the end of my first year of the program approached, I was offered to renew the program with the same host family in Texas or embark on a new adventure with a new family. For me, my host family was like my own family, and I loved them too much to leave. So, I decided to stay another year with them. I’m happy to say my plans didn’t go as I had intended originally, because shortly after my decision to stay, I met the one who stole my heart and would never let me leave Texas.
In 2014 I married my talented and handsome husband, Jacob. He is my best friend and a very important member of Photography by Taila. And, in early 2017, we welcomed another important member to the crew, our smiley baby girl, Evelyn.
The Wade crew, along with our four-legged family member, Miley, have been learning the art of parenting and it has been a fun ride! Being a wife and mommy has been such a blessing in my life and I look forward to sharing with you the joys of motherhood, traveling and other friendly advice in my blog.
But What About Photography?
When I was in college in Brazil, one of the elective classes I took was Photography in Public Relations. Little did I know that photography, and not PR, was my real passion.
A few years later, I came to the US and bought myself a "nice camera" just for fun!
With my camera in hands, I photographed friends, friend’s kids, flowers, mountains, and anything else that caught my eye. Most of what I know I learned in the making; add to it a few workshops, and a great mentor and friend from Brazil (you can check her work here), and the idea of Photography by Taila was starting to grow, making it’s debut in 2014.
With photography I can capture essence, emotion, and love. It warms my heart to look through a book of photographs and be reminded of smiles, touches, and memories that were otherwise forgotten.
And that is why I am a photographer. I want to photograph you and those dear to you; the details, the smiles, and the little things that will bring back memories from a moment you’ll want to cherish forever.
Photography by Taila specializes in photographing toddlers, seniors and couples, serving Austin, TX and surrounding areas including but not limited to Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Buda, Kyle, San Marcos, New Braunfels and San Antonio.
