Within the first 48 hours after their first breath, is when First 48 sessions take place. Right there where baby was born, at the hospital, birth center or at home. The images from this session are a most special keepsake! In this post I share a little story and some photographs from the first time I got to capture such precious moments for a family dear to me, and I loved every little bit of it!
It was 6am on December 1st when I received a message with a picture of my dear friend at the hospital with her hubby. They had been there for a couple of hours and were all ready to welcome their sweet baby boy! What a joyful day!
That same evening I rushed to the hospital to meet Luke Joshua. I couldn't wait to meet him and to hug my friend, who had become a mother. It was so special!
A little history here:
Nina and I were pregnant twins, day dreaming about meeting your babies, and all the fun the four (or 6 - counting the daddies in too!) of us will have together once the so-wished-for day comes up. We couldn't talk about anything else, but these cute little humans that were about to change your lives forever...
We always wondered if I was able to photograph Luke at the hospital, or even to do his newborn session, since our due dates were 9 days apart. Well, since Luke was couldn't wait any longer to meet his wonderful parents, and baby Wade was taking his/her time... everything worked out perfectly and I got to do my first First 48 session. Oh, I can't contain myfelf. My heart is full! I don't ever want to miss the opportunity to capture such special moments of a family welcoming a new life into their world.
Nina and Joshua are wonderful parents and I can see their love for eachother and for Luke overflow!
