Self Portrait - month 7 | May

Self portrait month 7. May is for Moms! I'm sharing a little DIY project. Check it out!

Hello there!

I've fallen off the monthly self portrait wagon, but I'm right back up! Here I am again!

This month, I wanted to share with you a couple of self portraits I took a little while back. One, when I was 39 weeks pregnant, and the other, when Evelyn was 39 weeks old.

When I took that first one, I had no idea if we were having a boy or a girl. Our lives were forever changed with the arrival of our first born. It's such a joy to explore and learn every day alongside this adventurous little one!

I'm so happy I have these to look at!

I took these in my bedroom, where the light was beautiful! As the season changed, the position of the sun also changed. The light changed in my room and I had to use a different wall for my baby portrait.

If you are expecting a baby, you should totally try it at home!

How to take a self portrait:

1) Find the perfect spot. A big window is the perfect source of light.

2) Set your camera on a tripod (or a dresser, or a bar stool - anything stable and the right hight).

3) Find something your camera can focus on (in my case, I used a broom - since the wall was plain, my camera needed something contrast-y to focus). I placed the broom right where I was going to stand, and nocked it down for the picture :p

4) Set the timer and run! :) You can also use a remote.

5) Repeat as many times as needed to get the perfect shot. :p
